The Legacy That Built The Herd
Built on more than 50 years of dedication to the Red Angus breed

From Two Red Bulls To A Herd Of Over 1,000
What began with Raymond and Betsy Ippolito helping to introduce Red Angus genetics to Canada has grown into one of the largest
and most influential herds in North America. More than 1,000 elite purebreds now stand on the foundation they built.

More Than Just A Herd
For five decades, we have refined our genetics through disciplined selection, rigorous culling, and a focus on traits that matter most: fertility, soundness, maternal strength, efficiency, and carcass quality.
Three Generations. One Purpose.
Three generations—Donna, Glenn, Darren & Kylie, and Candace—along with a small but committed team have poured their hands and hearts into building a program recognized for excellence.
Consistency at Scale
We deliver volume, genetic diversity, and proven cow families without compromising the hands-on care and attention that comes from a family-owned ranch.
Our Philosophy
Guided by a simple philosophy: honor tradition while striving for progress, every decision we make reflects the same purpose that started it all—building cattle that work.

Proven Time-Tested Genetics
When our grandfather and father first introduced the Red Angus to their herd in 1972,they were staking a future on a breed most Canadians had never heard of.
From those first calves, the vision took root. Over decades, the herd grew, refined through stewardshipand discipline until it stood as one of the most respected Red Angus programs recognized for its consistency, longevity, and productivity.
Today, as our family prepares to offer the complete herd for sale—a once-in-a-generation opportunity—we see the vision carried forward: Red Angus thriving in herds across North America and beyond, creating value for cattlemen and women and breeders while preserving the family legacy of those who pioneered it.

Everything Begins and Ends With the Cow
Our herd has been the foundation, the factory, and the future of our business.

A Legacy Built On Vision
Moose Creek Red Angus began in 1972, when Ray and Betsy Ippolito purchased two Red Angus bulls to use on
their commercial Black Angus herd near Kisbey, Saskatchewan. At the time, the breed was virtually unknown in Canada.

Where others saw risk, Ray and Betsy saw promise: a breed with fertility, maternal strength, docility, and efficiency.
Their hunch proved right. That simple decision—to cross black cows with red bulls—sparked a journey that would ultimately help establish Red Angus cattle as a respected and sought-after breed in Canada.
The first calf crop delivered strong, hardy calves that drew attention, and before long, Moose Creek became known as a pioneer in the breed—hosting early Red Angus sales, helping establish test stations, and welcoming visitors from across Canada, the U.S., and beyond. These initiatives helped introduce Red Angus cattle to new audiences and demonstrated the breed’s commercial value.
By the 1990s and 2000s, national shows, premier sales, worldwide exports, and a program aligned with forage-based management cemented Moose Creek as one of the largest and most respected Red Angus herds in North America.
At the heart of it all was family. Three generations have carried the vision forward—continuously improving, never compromising on integrity, and always believing in the strength of the red cow. From two red bulls to over 1,000 elite purebreds, Moose Creek is more than a herd. It’s a legacy program, built with resilience, stewardship, and a conviction that better cattle create a stronger industry for everyone.
